Got Our First Client

Recently I blogged about our first off the shelf product. It generated some interest in the business community and people where impressed with its user friendly interface and its ability to seamlessly integrate with Tally.

Among them there was an old friend of my husband and an owner of a small paint business. He was impressed by the product’s utility and the benefit it could bring to his company. However, he did not had Tally or any other software to make invoices. Instead he relied on old fashioned excel to generate invoices.

As his client base was limited he did not felt the need to buy an expensive software. But he disliked the weekly process of extracting key information like Date, Invoice Number, Customer Name and Amount and recording it in a separate book. True, it was indeed a time consuming and laborious effort. Also, the process is prone to error without any checks and balances in place.

We offered him a solution of extracting the relevant information through a program. This data would be than saved in a separate spreadsheet. This sheet would be then be connected to Google Data Studio and he can see these information in a similar interactive way.

After years of iteration and months of coding we were able to launch our first product and our first client needed customization in the product. This gave us a valuable lesson that our product features should not be cast in stone. But we need to be flexible enough to customize our product according to individual customer’s requirement. This will give us best of both the world’s:

• The customer can visualize how the end product could benefit him/her seeing our off the shelf product
• The customer can customize the product according to his/her business requirement
